From our own Battle Creek Police Department, for everyone celebrating Halloween today!
We want everyone celebrating to have the best time, and to be safe while you enjoy. Please keep in mind these tips:

Remember that Battle Creek does not set trick-or-treat hours... have fun this evening at your discretion. Look for lights on at houses.
Need a safe place to go for candy fun? Join BCPD at our annual Trunk or Treat from 5-7 p.m. TODAY at Bailey Park, 1392 Capital Ave. NE. Can't wait to see many of you there!

When driving, especially in the neighborhoods, please slow down and watch for children out trick or treating.

We will have extra officers on patrol to respond to calls and monitor neighborhoods for traffic violations and other safety concerns.

Grownups, make sure your kiddos know to look for cars before crossing the street.

Have kids wear something that lights up or is reflective, so they are more easily seen in the dark.

Grownups, check your child's candy before they eat it. If it is open, discolored, or otherwise looks suspicious, throw it away.
