The City Commission approved changing their second November meeting and their organizational meeting, due to the certification schedule for the Nov. 8 election.
Calhoun County officials must give the State of Michigan our city election results by Nov. 23, and the state will certify those results on Nov. 28, making them official.
The commission cannot hold its organizational meeting and swear in commissioners for the new term until after that certification. To meet that timeline, the upcoming commission meetings are:
- Nov. 15, 7 p.m. – a change from the previously-approved date, and the typical third-Tuesday meeting
- Dec. 6 – organizational meeting with swearing in of commissioners; starts at 7:30 p.m., with the regular meeting following
The commission approved the date changes at their Oct. 18 regular meeting. They will approve their meeting schedule for the coming year at the Dec. 6 organizational meeting.
