Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 99 Illinois St.  Rescue 3 arrived within two minutes to find smoke showing from the structure.  Car 3 arrived and assumed command.  Rescue 3 and Engine 2 performed fire attack.  Truck 1 and Squad 2 searched for any occupants.  Engine 5, Rescue 6, and Squad 6 performed support functions.  The fire started on the outside of the structure and had extended into the first and second-floor walls before fire crews arrived.  Due to the quick actions of fire crews, the damage was minimized.  All occupants had safely exited and no injuries were reported.  The fire marshal is investigating for a cause.
