BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A continued Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) project on M-37 will result in the temporary closure of a segment of Battle Creek Linear Path beginning next Monday, Nov. 28, following a delay due to the recent winter weather last week and weekend.
This phase of MDOT’s M-37 project will include repair work to guardrails along the M-37/S. Bedford Road bridge over the Kalamazoo River. The area of Battle Creek Linear Path that will be closed as a result is:
- Battle Creek Linear Path on the north side of the Kalamazoo River, located between the river and the intersection of M-37/S. Bedford Road and Jackson Street W.
- Battle Creek Linear Path on the south side of the Kalamazoo River, located between the river and the intersection of M-37/S. Bedford Road and River Road W.
The guardrail replacement work is scheduled to be wrapped up by Friday, Dec. 9. Work hours generally will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m. during the project.
This work is part of MDOT’s $4 million project to resurface 2.9 miles of M-37, from M-96 to Creekview Drive, in Battle Creek and Springfield. For more project details and a map of the work zone, visit MDOT’s Mi Drive portal.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during all work on our city’s infrastructure.
