BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — All City of Battle Creek facilities will close early, at 3 p.m., Friday, March 3, due to inclement weather from a significant winter weather event.
Important information regarding this early closure includes:
- All city facilities will close early at 3 p.m.
- Full Blast Recreation Center will close early at 3 p.m.
- Battle Creek Transit services will continue to operate until 7 p.m., or as long as weather permits. We will share any updates to changes in Transit services.
- You can sign up for Transit-specific alerts at battlecreekmi.gov/notifyme, in the Alert Center category.
- As always, for help planning your trip, call Transit at 269-966-3474.
- Republic Services will continue to operate normal services. We will share any updates if the weather requires Republic to delay service.
- To receive garbage/recycling-specific alerts, visit battlecreekmi.gov/notifyme and sign up for email and/or text alerts under the Alert Center category.
- Call Republic with specific questions at 269-216-8008.
In addition, the city’s Field Services division plans to have snow plows running throughout the winter weather event, beginning today and into Saturday, March 4. Please remember that state routes and major roads are the first priority for snow plowing. Crews will move back and forth between major roads and neighborhood streets as much as necessary.
