Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a fully involved garage fire, reported to be threatening the residential structure, around 11 p.m. at 55 Riverview Avenue. 
Car 3, Truck 1, and Engine 3 were first on the scene, extinguished the fire, and checked the home for exposure. Engine 5 supplied water and Engine 2 aided in the overhaul. Engine 4 and Rescue 6 were released immediately after arrival. 
Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour, and the occupant of the home was unharmed. The fire is believed to be caused by sparks from power equipment.
