Local officials are raising awareness tonight about a sharp increase in drug overdoses and deaths in the Kalamazoo area.
Battle Creek Police, other law enforcement agencies in Calhoun County, and the county Public Health Department urge caution around a potential “bad batch” of heroin that appears to have caused over a dozen overdoses and multiple deaths just today in the Kalamazoo area.
Agencies are testing drugs that have circulated in that area, and officials want to raise awareness before it potentially circulates in Calhoun County.
If you, someone you know, or someone around you might be experiencing the negative effects of any drug, please call 911 immediately. First responders can help, and officials have public awareness and safety as a priority.
