BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City crews will complete tree removal along a utilities right-of-way, connecting Simmons Avenue in the City of Battle Creek and in Bedford Township, beginning Thursday, May 4.
In cooperation with Bedford Township and the Calhoun County Road Department, the City of Battle Creek will improve this right-of-way as part of the project to construct a temporary, gravel road connecting Simmons Avenue. This work will ultimately provide a secondary access in and out of the neighborhood that will be impacted by future work to replace the Mason Avenue culvert at Wabascon Creek.
The improvements along the Simmons Avenue right-of-way will start with the removal of a select number of trees, as well as grading and improving the driving surface.
Crews expect the tree removal work to begin by 7 a.m. Thursday, May 4, and to be completed by 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, weather permitting.
There are no expected road closures during this work.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during all work on our city’s infrastructure.
