A 29-year-old man is in jail tonight after a foot chase with police, and his arrest for several warrants and other charges.
At about 5 p.m. today, the Battle Creek Police Gang Suppression Unit was in the 100 block of Arlington Drive when they saw the man, who they knew had several outstanding felony warrants.
The man ignored officers’ commands and ran away through several homes’ yards. Police chased him and set up a perimeter in the area.
During the chase, neighbors told police the man broke into a house in the 700 block of North Washington Avenue. Police confirmed the people who live in the home were safe and accounted for, then brought a K-9 inside the house and took the man into custody.
The man is in jail on the outstanding warrants, and Battle Creek Police are seeking additional charges of resisting and obstructing police.
