Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to 189 Bryant St. for a reported structure fire. Car 3 arrived within three minutes to find smoke showing from a two-story, boarded-up house.

This was the location of a house fire last year - with a rescue - on July 24, 2022. In that fire, firefighters rescued the homeowner from the second floor.

Fire attack and search took place, with Engine 2 extinguishing the fire on the first floor, while Truck 1 searched the second floor, and Squad 6 searched the basement. Engine 3 supported the operation and assisted with ventilation. No occupants were located.
