Do you have an outdoor painting project on the summer to-do list? The city can help – our no-cost paint program is back!
Our Code Compliance Division is pleased to work with the Springfield Do-it Center to offer city homeowners up to 10 gallons of paint – in one of six colors – to complete exterior home projects. There are no income requirements.
The program is available to neighbors who meet the guidelines on a first come, first served basis. We provide the paint, and recipients must cover all other supplies and costs. The city does not provide painting services.
Here are the requirements:
- You must own and live in your home, inside the City of Battle Creek.
- Complete a program application – available at battlecreekmi.gov/code, under Paint Program, or in person at City Hall, in Room 117, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Provide photos of the areas you will paint as part of the program – exterior projects only.
- When the project is done, contact our Code staff at 269-966-3311 to schedule an inspection of the work.
If we approve your application, we will give you a voucher to pick up your paint from the Springfield Do-it Center, at 1583 W. Dickman Road. You must pick one of the six available colors – Façade, Simply White, Zinc, Sea Hazel, Sandalwood, or Titanium (see attached graphic).
You must complete your painting project within 60 days of when we issue your paint voucher.
