Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 250 Knapp Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m. Rescue 6 was first to arrive, and found the side of an attached garage on fire.
Rescue 6 made an exterior attack, quickly extinguishing the fire, supported by Rescue 4 and Car 3. All other companies were not needed and returned to their stations.
The cause of the fire was unintentional, and crews believe the fire started in the trash can, due to old barbeque ashes. Please do not place hot ashes in trash containers.
