An 18-year-old young man is in stable condition after a shooting, and Battle Creek Police are asking for any information that might help their investigation.
At 2:15 p.m. Friday, police responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Hamblin Avenue and Angell Street. Witnesses reported seeing an SUV chasing a sedan, with someone in the SUV firing a gun.
Shortly after this, Bronson Battle Creek Hospital called police to report a shooting victim. When police arrived, they found a sedan in the parking lot that met the description from the reported chase, and the 18-year-old was receiving medical attention.
The young man’s injuries were not life-threatening. Police do not believe the community is in further danger from this situation.
Police continue to investigate, and do not have further details to release right now.
