Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a possible front porch fire at 123 Maple Terrace at 3:13am. 

Rescue 2, Car 3, and Engine 1 arrived to find light smoke showing from the front window of the home. They searched the home, and deployed an attach line. A very small fire was contained to the front of the structure.
Engine 3 and 4 assumed the role of safety, and Engine 5 and Rescue 6 were released from the scene. 

There were people in the home at the time of the fire who quickly exited the structure. Battle Creek Police were also on the scene investigating a possible break-in. The Fire Marsal and Fire Inspector were called to the scene and the fire is under investigation.
