Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a manufacturing facility on a fire alarm. On arrival, Rescue 2 was met by maintenance, who said there was a fire in the mechanical room, and all employees were out and accounted for.

Rescue 2 notified dispatch to make the call a full structure fire response. Rescue 2 made entry to find smoke coming from the back of the structure. Rescue 2 contacted Car 3, turned over command, and focused on fire extinguishment. The fire was located in the mechanical room ductwork area and was quickly knocked down. 

Engine 1 was assigned to assist with attempting to ventilate the building. Engine 3 was assigned to open exterior doors, Engine 5 checked for vertical extension over the area, and all other units performed support functions. Once all the smoke was cleared, all units were released and the building was turned over to maintenance. 

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
