BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 47-year-old Battle Creek woman was allegedly stabbed by her 23-year-old daughter, following an argument on Freedom Lane last Thursday, July 18, evening.
Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 144 Freedom Lane shortly after 9:30 p.m. last Thursday, July 18, evening. Upon their arrival, officers located the 47-year-old stabbing victim, who appeared to have a stab wound to her upper, right thigh. Further investigation revealed that the victim’s 23-year-old daughter, also of Battle Creek, had stabbed her mother following an argument.
Police were able to locate the suspect a short time after responding to the scene. The 23-year-old woman is currently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for felonious assault.
The 47-year-old victim was transported to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for treatment, and was expected to be released.
The BCPD was assisted by the Battle Creek Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance, and the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety in responding to this incident.
