Recyclerama, the FREE recycling event for Calhoun County residents, will take place on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year's event will take place at Bailey Park, 1392 Capital Ave. NE. Residents must use the Wagner Drive entrance to the park and will be directed to exit onto Capital Avenue.
Drop-off stations are as follows and volunteers will unload items from your vehicle in this order:
-Clean polystyrene (Styrofoam #6) -- NO packing peanuts or construction Styrofoam
-Eyeglasses
-Clothing, shoes and housewares (for Goodwill)
-Appliances, metal and steel (Freon removal available on-site)
-Electronics -- anything with a cord and/or battery:
cables/cords, DVD players, monitors, projectors, TVs, VCRs, clocks, fans, heaters, irons, car batteries, radios/stereos, cell/landline phones, fax/scanners, MP3 players/iPods, satellite dishes, typewriters, cameras, curling irons, clippers, holiday lights, remotes, computers (including parts/peripherals), printers (including ink/toner cartridges), copiers, laptops, PDAs, servers/UPS units, video game consoles, small kitchen appliances, sweepers/vacuums, hair dryers, power tools, massagers
-Household hazardous waste (NO latex paint)
aerosol cans, paint thinner/turpentine, oil/lead-based paint, cleaners/caustics/solvents, automotive products (antifreeze, brake fluid, transmission fluid, motor oil), sharps (inside coffee container/laundry detergent bottle with lid), fire extinguishers, small propane cylinders, tube/CFL light bulbs, household batteries, items containing mercury, pesticides/herbicides
