BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A Battle Creek man has been arrested in connection with a triple shooting that occurred at the #1 Legends Club on Sept. 15, following an investigation by the Battle Creek Police Department’s Gang Suppression Unit.
Police identified Rickeem Dawaun McClinton, 26, as the suspect in the shooting, which took place in the club’s parking lot shortly after 1 a.m.
Three individuals were treated at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victims included a 45-year-old Battle Creek man with a gunshot wound to his back, a 28-year-old Battle Creek man with a gunshot wound to his leg, and a 37-year-old Springfield woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.
The Battle Creek Police GSU located the suspect, McClinton, in Lansing, Michigan, and made the arrest on Oct. 9. This operation was carried out in conjunction with the Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team and the U.S. Marshals Service. McClinton was then transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
McClinton has been arraigned on three charges of aggravated assault with intent to murder, three counts of felony firearm, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
