BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — As the winter season kicks into high gear in Battle Creek, the city invites neighbors to help us name 10 more snowplows.
We launched the inaugural snowplow naming contest in December 2023, choosing 10 community-generated and selected names for roughly half the city’s snowplow fleet.
We will accept snowplow name submissions through Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. You can find the simple form on our website here: https://battlecreekmi.gov/580/Snow-Operations, as well as the list of 10 previously chosen names for reference. We will not consider names that are obscene, profane, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
The week of Feb. 3 we will release the list of submitted names, and neighbors can vote for their top 10 through Friday, Feb. 21.
We will announce the new plow names in early March 2025!
