[ARCHIVED] 37-year-old Battle Creek man injured in early morning shooting

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, the Battle Creek Police Department responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Manchester Street. 

Officers arrived at the scene following a 911 call from a local resident and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper left thigh. Despite their efforts to render aid, the victim refused treatment and did not provide any information about the suspect.

The Battle Creek Fire Department provided initial care until LifeCare Ambulance transported the victim to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident, posing no threat to the public.
