BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — On Saturday, Jan. 18, shortly before 1 p.m., Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a fight involving a gun in the 100 block of Greentree Lane.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with an 18-year-old female who reported that she and her friend, also 18, had been arguing online with another woman. When she stopped responding to messages, the other woman arrived at her residence on Greentree Lane, accompanied by her brother and two other females. A physical altercation ensued in the hallway of the complex and continued into the apartment before the suspects fled in a vehicle.
Police issued a description of the suspect vehicle, which was located shortly thereafter in the Post Addition neighborhood. Two occupants were detained.
Officers reviewed a video of the incident, which showed a 19-year-old female striking individuals with a pistol. She was arrested for felonious assault. The pistol, found in the suspect's purse, had been reported stolen last year, leading to an additional charge of possession of stolen property.
Assault charges are pending against other identified suspects. One victim sustained minor facial injuries and was treated at the scene by LifeCare Ambulance.
