The City of Battle Creek is excited to announce that candidates for city jobs now can apply online!
CivicHR, a Human Resources software package, is now integrated right into our website, www.battlecreekmi.gov. Navigate to the same place – under the I Want To… tab, click Employment Opportunities under Apply.
You’ll see a new format for our job listings, and you can sign up to receive email alerts when new jobs are posted. Once you have applied for a job, you may also create an account and profile, saving your information for future use.
Once you submit a job application, you automatically will receive a receipt notification. Our Human Resources staff will use the CivicHR tool to communicate next steps in the process and notify all candidates as they make decisions for city positions.
“We are excited about moving forward with the online application and away from paper to keep up with the times and improve efficiency in our hiring processes,” said city Human Resources Generalist-Benefits Honnee Thompkins. “This is truly a benefit for everyone involved.”
Those interested also will find our job postings through indeed.com and on our Facebook, Twitter and, soon, LinkedIn accounts.
With this new process, we no longer accept paper job applications. Those who need computer access to apply for city jobs are welcome to use a kiosk in the Human Resources Office, Room 215 in City Hall, 10 N. Division St.
