BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Battle Creek police arrested a 34-year-old man with outstanding warrants—including one for aggravated assault—after executing a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Lathrop Avenue on Monday, October 6.
Shortly after 1 p.m., a nearby resident reported seeing the man enter the home. Officers responded quickly and heard male voices inside, but no one came to the door. Police confirmed with the homeowner, who was out of town, that no one should have been inside the residence.
After securing a search warrant, members of BCPD’s Emergency Response Team entered the home and located the suspect. He was arrested on his existing warrants and faces new charges of resisting and obstructing police. No injuries were reported.
This is a great example of how staying alert and speaking up can make a difference. We appreciate the neighbor who reached out—it helped keep the community safe.
