[ARCHIVED] Battle Creek holiday update and parade reminder

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Don’t miss the Battle Creek Christmas Parade, presented by the Harper Creek Optimist Club.

Parade details for spectators:

  • Route: Starts at Champion and Washington at 5:40 p.m., heads down West Michigan Avenue, and ends near Commerce Pointe and Café Rica.
  • Best view and parking: Arrive by 5:30 p.m. Public lots downtown are open — get there early!
  • Roads along the route and intersecting streets will be closed.

Look for Him-a-layin Salt, one of our named snow trucks, making its parade debut.

Holiday closures and service updates:

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, please note the following closures and schedule changes:

  • City of Battle Creek Offices: Closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. Regular hours resume Monday, Dec. 1 (8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
  • Ride Calhoun: Offices closed Nov. 27–28. RC MAX (fixed-route), RC MOVE (paratransit), and RC FLEX (on-demand) will NOT operate Thursday, Nov. 27. Regular service resumes Friday, Nov. 28.
  • Republic Services: Closed Thursday, Nov. 27. Thursday and Friday trash/recycling pickups will be delayed by one day.
  • Full Blast Recreation Center: Closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. Regular hours resume Saturday, Nov. 29.
