For those filing local 2016 tax returns, the City of Battle Creek now offers a form BC-1040EZ.
This tax return filing form is for resident and non-resident City of Battle Creek taxpayers who have W-2 income, interest/dividends, alimony received or paid, taxable IRA/pensions, and IRA deductions.
The new form is only available online.
Electronic filing is available at www.municonnect.com/battlecreek. This site also is accessible through the city website, www.battlecreekmi.gov. Under the Your Government tab, navigate to Income Tax.
Taxpayers who have filed online in previous years will have the same account number. If needed, there is a “forgot account number” link at the bottom of the page. For taxpayers who have not filed online with the city in previous years, please contact the Income Tax Office to create an account, 269-966-3345.
A variety of income tax forms – including the new BC-1040EZ – also are available on the city’s Income Tax web page. Paper BC-1040 forms are available in the Income Tax Office, Room 114 at City Hall, 10 N. Division St.
When sending emails to the Income Tax Division to check the status or receipt of tax returns or payments, please include the last four digits of your Social Security number. Email email@example.com.
