The City of Battle Creek is seeking volunteers with tax knowledge to serve on the Income Tax Board of Appeals.
It is through the work of our dedicated citizens who choose to serve in this way that we have citizen representation in the business of city government.
The Income Tax Board of Appeals meets when a taxpayer does not agree with the city tax administrator’s interpretation of tax law resulting in an additional tax assessment on the person’s return.
Appointed members from the public must live in the City of Battle Creek, have three years of experience in the income tax field, and be current in his/her own income tax filings with no outstanding balance.

For current vacancies, applications are due on Friday, May 19. However, applications are accepted throughout the year for all committees and are kept on file.
