[ARCHIVED] Spring Cleanup set for next week

construction site waste

If you’re still spring cleaning and completing home projects, you can put up to 10 cubic yards of construction waste at the curb next week, for no extra charge, as part of this year’s Spring Cleanup week.

Pickup by Waste Management will be on your usual trash/recycling pickup day from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5. This is for City of Battle Creek residents only.

All materials must be contained or, when appropriate (carpet or boards, for example), must be bundled into four-foot lengths and securely tied. Items set out may not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Hazardous waste and treated lumber will not be accepted. However, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 13, all Calhoun County residents may drop off household hazardous waste at the Calhoun County building parking lot in Marshall. For more information on this event, visit calhouncountyrecycling.com.

Yard waste pickup by Waste Management continues until Dec. 1, also on your usual trash/recycling pickup day. Residents can place yard waste in specially-marked containers; paper, biodegradable bags available for purchase at locations around the community; or tied into four-foot bundles. As with the Spring Cleanup items, none of these may weigh more than 50 pounds.
