[ARCHIVED] MDOT holding local open house Wednesday on M-66 paving project

WHAT:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is holding an open house to discuss a planned project on M-66 (Capital Avenue NE) in Battle Creek, Calhoun County. There will be formal presentations at 5:15 and 6 p.m.

BACKGROUND:

MDOT is planning to repave M-66 between Capital Avenue NE and Frey Drive. M-66 also will be converted from four lanes to three lanes with bike lanes in both directions, which is in keeping with the city’s long-term nonmotorized transportation plan. The project also includes sidewalk upgrades. Construction is planned for 2018.
