[ARCHIVED] Police investigating weekend death outside warehouse

BCPD_Patch-

Battle Creek Police are investigating – and seeking information on – the death of a 57-year-old man on Saturday.

Police responded at 3 p.m. Saturday to the bottom of the loading dock of the Behnke warehouse between Union and Nevada streets, in the northeast part of Battle Creek, where a man appeared to have fallen face-down onto the ground.

Police have identified the man, who was declared dead at the scene, as Robert Krutul, recently of Battle Creek.

Krutul was known to have a medical issue that caused previous falls. While blood had pooled at the scene, it is believed that Saturday’s heavy rain contributed.

A full autopsy is expected to take six to eight weeks.

Anyone who saw Krutul on Saturday is asked to contact Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
