City officials are pleased to announce two free scrap tire collections happening this month.
A Michigan Department of Environmental Quality grant has made it possible for the city to provide the collections.
The collections will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Department of Public Works, 150 S. Kendall St. on:
- Tuesday, June 13
- Tuesday, June 27
These collections are open ONLY to those who live within the City of Battle Creek. Once the trailers are filled, the collection events will end, which could be before the 7 p.m. end time.
Only 10 tires per household, per event, please. No oversized, semi, truck, or tractor tires will be accepted.
There are also three scrap tire collections coming up for anyone living within Calhoun County. Each also has a limit of 10 tires per household, per event.
- Saturday, June 17 – 9 a.m. to noon, or until trailer is full
Village of Tekonsha offices, 537 N. Church St., Tekonsha
- Saturday, June 24 – 9 a.m. to noon, or until trailer is full
Athens Township offices, 130 E. Burr Oak St., Athens
- Saturday, July 22 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or when trailer is full
City of Albion – Ketchum Field, intersection of North Clark and East North streets, Albion
