Get your bowls and spoons ready – it’s time again to celebrate cereal with this year’s Cereal Festival and World’s Longest Breakfast Table in downtown Battle Creek!
To help everyone plan for, or around, the festivities, the following road closures will be in place in the downtown area. Please be alert while driving in these areas, and enjoy the weekend.
Closures will be put in place at approximately 5 p.m. Friday. All roads are expected to reopen by approximately 2 p.m. Saturday. Please note that the Cereal City Classic 5K/10K will take place Saturday morning, starting at the Battle Creek YMCA on Capital Avenue NE. No roads will be closed, but please be alert for runners and bike leaders.
Friday, June 9 – Grand Cereal Parade, 6 p.m. step-off
Closures/notes:
- Access to Michigan Avenue parking ramp will be from McCamly Street
- Van Buren Street – Washington Avenue to United Way, including Gould Street and parking lots along this route
- Michigan Avenue – Washington to Division Street (overnight closures from Washington to McCamly)
- McCamly Street – at Wave Park area and at State Street
- Capital Avenue – at State and Jackson streets
- Jackson Street extension
- Carlyle Street
- Michigan Avenue parking lot, across from the Kellogg Foundation
Saturday, June 10 – Cereal Festival, featuring the World’s Longest Breakfast Table, 8 a.m.-noon
Closures/notes:
- Access to Michigan Avenue parking ramp will be from McCamly Street
- Michigan Avenue – Washington Avenue to McCamly
- Gould Street; Kool Family Community Center; Math & Science Center parking lot; and other nearby parking lots
- Carlyle Street
- Jackson Street parking lot
