Hot in Place recycling treatments to begin on various streets
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Hot-in-place recycling treatments will begin on Saturday, Aug. 26, on the following streets:
Beckman Ave., Territorial Rd. to Columbia Ave.
LaVista Blvd., Territorial Rd. to Columbia Ave.
Minges Creek Pl., Beckley Rd. to Glen Cross Rd.
N. 20th Street, Michigan Ave. to Industrial Park
This resurfacing treatment uses the existing pavement to create a new surface, which improves the road before the city uses another pavement treatment. About 1.5 inches is shaved off the top, mixed with liquid asphalt, and replaced. The life cycle is 3 to 5 years.
Work will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, weather permitting.
Starting Aug. 30, city contractors will place a chip seal treatment on these streets. Work is expected to be complete by Sept. 15, weather permitting.
Streets will remain open to traffic. Please plan for intermittent traffic disruptions, which could cause delays. Please do not park on these streets during work hours; vehicles will be towed.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during this and all work to maintain our infrastructure.
