As the city continues work to help improve the Battle Creek community and its neighborhoods, staff introduces a new chief building official.
Richard Bolek began work with the city in early October and is the chief building official and inspections supervisor. He is responsible for supervising registered Act 54 inspectors both employed and contracted by the city, as well as the customer service representatives in the code and inspections office.
Bolek, who most recently worked in Meridian Township, brings to the city many years of construction experience, in addition to state registration as a building official, building inspector, and plan reviewer.
“In addition to his professional experience, Richard brings drive and enthusiasm to this work,” said Community Services Director Marcie Gillette. “I believe he will be a major asset to our city team, and to our work in the community.”
