[ARCHIVED] Fire, Police departments collecting toys, starting Dec. 1

Stuff a Truck 2015

The Battle Creek Fire and Police departments are, once again, inviting the community to help make Christmas a little brighter for area children, by donating toys.

The Police Department’s SWAT truck will, once again, be parked for the annual Stuff-a-Truck event, happening from 4-7 p.m. next Friday, Dec. 1. Due to construction at the police station, the truck will be parked across Division Street at Commerce Pointe.

Bring new, unwrapped toys to donate as part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

For those who can’t stop by on Friday, but still want to participate, Toys for Tots collection boxes now are located in the police station, 20 N. Division St.; next door at City Hall, 10 N. Division St.; and in various locations around the community.

The Fire Department will, once again, work with The Salvation Army also to collect new, unwrapped toys. Six of the stations will open their doors to the public to collect toy donations, with hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Drop off toys at the fire stations from next Friday, Dec. 1, until Friday, Dec. 22:

  • Station 1 – 195 E. Michigan Ave.
  • Station 2 – 145 N. Washington Ave.
  • Station 3 – 222 Cliff St.
  • Station 4 – 8 S. 20th St.
  • Station 5 – 1170 W. Michigan Ave.
  • Station 6 – 2401 Capital Ave. SW

We hope you will consider participating in these great holiday programs!
