Bus/Tele-Transit rides will be extended for meeting attendees.
Battle Creek Transit invites the community to public meetings next week, as staff considers the direction of Transit services for the next five years.
The meetings will be from 6-8 p.m. next Monday, Dec. 4, and noon to 2 p.m. next Tuesday, Dec. 5. Both will be at the city’s Department of Public Works, 150 S. Kendall St.
For those who will ride the bus to a meeting, a shuttle will transport attendees from the downtown bus transfer center to Public Works, and back. The shuttle will leave the transfer center at 5:50 p.m. Monday, and 11:50 a.m. Tuesday. After each meeting, the shuttle will return attendees to the transfer center, and provide a trip ticket for the ride home.
On Monday, regular bus service will be extended to 9:15 p.m. to accommodate meeting attendees.
Those who live in the Battle Creek area and wish to attend a meeting, but don’t live near a bus route, will not be charged to use Tele-Transit for transportation to and from Public Works. Contact Transit dispatch at 269-966-3474 by this Wednesday, Nov. 29, to be added to the trip list.
Consultant Foursquare ITP will lead the meetings, giving information on the process to develop a five-year master plan to give direction to Battle Creek Transit, and collecting public input to improve Transit services. The plan will consider staffing, routes, fares, and more – a top-to-bottom look at services.
Those who cannot attend the meetings and wish to give input on Transit services can call 269-966-3474 or email PublicInput@battlecreekmi.gov.
