[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Snow emergency lifting at 6 a.m. Tuesday

Helen Montgomery March 2014

UPDATE -- The city's snow emergency will end at 6 a.m. tomorrow -- Tuesday, Feb. 13. Neighbors may again park their vehicles on local streets.

The City of Battle Creek will close all city facilities at 3 p.m. today, and will be under a snow emergency starting on Saturday, due to the continued winter weather.

Full Blast recreation facilities, 35 Hamblin Ave., will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

Battle Creek Transit will continue operations today and Saturday. Buses may run at a slight delay, but are operating safely.

In addition, a snow emergency will be in place starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. This means that no parking will be allowed on residential streets, until further notice.

Neighbors will have 24 hours to move their vehicles -- until 2 p.m. on Sunday. At that time, police will attempt to make in-person contact with the registered owners of vehicles remaining parked on the streets, and will have them towed as a last resort.

We ask that everyone please move your vehicles, and stay off the roads if you can. We wish everyone a safe weekend, and appreciate everyone's help.
