[ARCHIVED] Weekly time open to talk business development with city staff

Business Briefings

As part of the city’s efforts to contribute to a business-friendly community, staff are hosting free business development meetings with anyone who has an idea to explore.

City neighbors, new or established business owners, developers, and investors can make an appointment to speak to a cross-departmental group of staff, depending on the services and expertise needed for the project idea.

Staff will help provide information on where specific types of businesses can be located, what to consider when opening a business, which state codes must be met, and which permits and inspections may be needed. Staff also will help attendees gain a greater understanding of the types of plans required, and when, as well as the action steps to obtain a certificate of occupancy, and any other information a person might need to work toward success.

Appointments are available between 9 and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings. Those interested can make 30-minute appointments to meet with staff in City Hall Room 117, 10 N. Division St.

Contact Chief Building Official and Inspections Supervisor Richard Bolek to schedule an appointment – 269-966-3387. Those interested must request an appointment by the Monday before the requested meeting date.
