Attention Battle Creek residents. There have been several incidents over the past week involving homes being broken in to. So far the incidents have been focused to the south side of town in the corridor from Columbia Ave. to I-94, and Goguac Lake to Riverside Dr. The suspect(s) have typically forced entry to a side/rear door of an attached garage and entered the home from there.
Once inside, the suspects have been entering the master bedroom and targeting mostly electronics and jewelry.
These crimes appear to be occurring between 5 am and 1 pm, within a few hours of the residents leaving their homes.
There are two images attached below from surveillance footage of one of the incidents that occurred over the weekend. If you have any information regarding these incidents please call 911 or contact Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
In response to these events, please take the time to evaluate the layers of security around your home. All security lighting should be working, with lamps and motion sensors positioned to maximize coverage. Any exterior doors should be equipped with a deadbolt lock. The addition of a high security strike plate can also help increase your level of security.
