[ARCHIVED] Signal work to close Capital Ave SW/Jackson intersection Tuesday

Traffic signal mast arms

Continued work on the traffic signal mast arms at the Capital Avenue SW and Jackson Street intersection will cause temporary road closures on Tuesday.

Work will take place starting at 7:45 a.m., and the intersection is expected to be completely open by the early afternoon.

The city’s contractor, J. Ranck Electric, will construct four new traffic signal mast arms at the intersection. This work requires each leg of the intersection to be temporarily closed – one at a time – while crews construct the mast heads overhanging the road.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Please use caution in the area of this intersection, and follow all barricades and police guidance. Pedestrians also are advised to avoid the intersection during this work.

All work is weather dependent. Staff appreciate everyone’s patience during this and all construction work.
