City officials invite everyone who lives in Battle Creek to participate in the ongoing National Citizen Survey, designed to provide data on how well our city government is doing providing services to our neighbors, gauge perceptions of the city, and make comparisons to other cities.
The city’s last NCS was in 2015. It is administered by the National Research Center Inc. of Boulder, Colo., and includes questions about the quality of life in Battle Creek, local policies, demographics, ratings of city government services, and neighbor use of those services.
Also this year, we’re asking neighbors to answer questions related to the community BC Vision project, and experiences with the Battle Creek Police Department.
Approximately 3,000 neighbors living in the city randomly received the survey by mail, and we encourage anyone who received it to complete and mail it back. Thank you to the many who already have done so!
The survey now is available online for everyone living in Battle Creek, and we want to hear from you! Please visit our website, battlecreekmi.gov, and scroll down to City Spotlight. Click the link to our 2018 Citizen Survey. The direct link is http://bit.ly/2018BCsurvey.
The survey at this link is available en Español and in the Burmese dialects of Falam, Hakha, and Tedim:

The online survey will be open during the month of July, after which NRC staff will compile the results and produce a report for the city.
Please only complete the survey once; if you received a copy on the mail, do not complete the online version linked from our website.
The National Citizen Survey has been used in more than 350 communities across 46 stations. It is a neighbor opinion survey, and important benchmarking tool that allows for comparison among communities. This is the only citizen survey endorsed by the International City/County Management Association and the National League of Cities.
A huge than you to every neighbor who completes the survey. City officials look forward to reviewing and sharing the results with the Battle Creek community.
