Public invited to attend presentation on Transportation Master Plan
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Two public meetings will be held next Monday and Tuesday to present the final recommendations of the Transportation Master Plan.
Public transportation is vital to the future of the Battle Creek region. Battle Creek Transit has been developing a Transportation Master Plan to assist in setting service priorities for coming years.
Whether you are an existing transit user or simply an interested resident, we encourage you to attend one of the public meeting sessions to learn about the potential service improvements and share your views on how well the recommendations meet the mobility needs of the Battle Creek community.
PUBLIC MEETING DATES, TIMES AND LOCATION:
Monday, August 20, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., at W.K. Kellogg Airport, 15551 S. Airport Road
Tuesday, August 21, from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., at W.K. Kellogg Airport, 15551 S. Airport Road
Battle Creek Transit will be extending regular bus service on August 21 until 9:15 p.m. to enable individuals to attend the public meetings. On both days, you can take any of the regular buses to the transfer center and catch the free shuttle bus to the Airport for the public meeting. This shuttle will leave the transfer center by 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 and by 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 21. After each public meeting, the shuttle will be at the Airport to transport you back to the transfer center so you may catch your bus back home.
If you reside in the Battle Creek area, but do not live near any of our bus routes and require transportation for either of these public meetings, please contact Battle Creek Transit’s dispatch office at (269) 966-3474 as soon as possible to be added to the transportation list.
The Public Transportation Committee, whose focus is to study transit needs and problems, including funding, will be meeting on Tuesday, August 21, at 9 a.m., at W. K. Kellogg Airport. The public is welcome to attend as well.
