[ARCHIVED] Yard waste collection ends this week

yard waste

**PLEASE NOTE -- Crews report Brice Pit will reopen Wednesday, Nov. 28, due to the need to be plowed out.**

Curbside yard waste collection for neighbors in the city limits ends for the winter season this Friday, Nov. 30.

Due to the winter weather arriving, the city will not extend yard waste service this year. Yard waste collection will begin again in late March.

For those who still have leaves or other yard waste items for disposal, please note that the city’s compost site, Brice Pit, is an option. Brice is at 715 W. River Road, and is open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Brice is closed Sundays.

Please help us by keeping leaves and other lawn debris out of the streets, as they can run into and clog storm drains.

More information on recycling and yard waste is available at the city’s website, battlecreekmi.gov/recycling.
