[ARCHIVED] Several polling locations relocated

Elections voting box

In an effort to lessen congestion, address parking issues and save money, the city has moved several polling locations from Lakeview schools to area churches.

• Precincts 6 and 9, previously at Riverside Elementary, will move to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, across Riverside Drive at 157 Chapel Hill Drive.

• Precinct 8, previously at Minges Brook Elementary, will move to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1079 Riverside Drive.

• Precincts 5 and 20, previously at Lakeview Middle School, will move to First Wesleyan Church, 14425 S. Helmer Road.

• Precincts 22 and 23, previously at Prairieview Elementary, will move to Battle Creek First Assembly, 800 S. 24th St.

New voter identification cards have been processed and voters in these precincts can expect to receive them in the mail, if they haven’t already.

The changes will take effect starting with the March 8 presidential primary election. The other 2016 elections are the special election for ballot proposals on May 3, the state and local primary on Aug. 2 and the general election on Nov. 8.
