Other information: Battle Creek Fire Department Engine 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, Squad 6 and Car 3 responded to a reported roof fire at the Airport Operations Building. Upon arrival, no visible fire or smoke conditions were present. Rescue 4 and Truck 6 investigated to find smoldering roof deck materials near a sky light. Part of the roof was exposed to ensure there was no fire extension. The rest of the building was then checked to ensure there was no hidden fire conditions. A lighting strike is believed to be the cause of the fire, however, it is unknown when it occurred. Normal operations at the airport building have resumed.
