Other information:. Battle Creek Fire Department Engine 2, Squad 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, Squad 6 and Car 3 were dispatched to a reported attached garage fire. Engine 5 arrived to find a working attached garage fire that was extending into the house; all occupants were out of the structure. Engine 5 extended a hose line to begin extinguishing the fire. Engine 2 set up a water supply for Engine 5. Rescue 4 and Squad 2 entered the home to contain the fire. Rescue 3 secured the utilities while Truck 6 ventilated. Squad 6 assisted Engine 5 with fire attack. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, however, due to the amount of contents in the home and garage, extensive overhaul operations took place. A board-up company will secure the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The occupants will be displaced and will stay with family.
