Other information: Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a reported house fire. Rescue 3 was first arriving engine and found smoke coming out of the second floor. Rescue 3 pulled a quick attack hose line and was able to make entry, and quickly extinguish the fire. Fire damage was limited to the secondfloor bedroom, but there was smoke damage throughout the second floor. BCFD responded with five engine companies, one squad, and two command cars, for a total of 19 personnel. Crews were getting released from the scene within a half hour; Rescue 3 and Engine 6 were on scene about an hour. The investigation will be turned over to the fire marshal on Monday for follow-up.
