The city’s annual water quality report – using data collected in 2018 – is now available for viewing.

The report is available on the city’s website, battlecreekmi.gov/2018waterqualityreport. From the home page, also navigate to it from the I Want To... tab, View, Annual Water Quality Reports.

Water customers may request that a paper copy be delivered to them by calling Tara Penney at the Department of Public Works, 269-966-3343, or Utility Billing, 269-966-3366.

This annual report contains important information about the source and quality of our drinking water. The document explains where the Battle Creek area’s water comes from, gives information related to various water issues, including lead in home plumbing, and additional monitoring, and outlines and explains the water sampling results from last year.

Also part of the 2018 report is a monitoring and report violation. This is discussed in the report, and the related public notice is on the city’s Annual Water Quality Reports web page. The city received the violation due to a sampling error during one of our required, regular sampling periods. Follow-up sampling was completed, and met all standards.

The annual water quality report, also known as a consumer confidence report, is required by the Environmental Protection Agency for public water suppliers that serve the same people year round.
