[ARCHIVED] City participates in holiday toy collections

Station 4 toy drive

The city is participating in holiday toy collections again this year, to support local organizations and help local children enjoy an extra-special holiday.

Both collections seek donations of new, unwrapped toys.

Six of the city’s Battle Creek Fire Department stations will open their doors to the public to collect toy donations for The Salvation Army, with hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (with Station 1 open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). You can donate toys at any of the stations now through Wednesday, Dec. 18:

  • Station 1 – 195 E. Michigan Ave. (**open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.**)
  • Station 2 – 145 N. Washington Ave.
  • Station 3 – 222 Cliff St.
  • Station 4 – 8 S. 20th St.
  • Station 5 – 1170 W. Michigan Ave.
  • Station 6 – 2401 Capital Ave. SW

The city also is supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, with collection boxes at the Police Department and City Hall (34 and 10 N. Division St.).

The Police Department will hold its annual Stuff a Truck event from 5-7 p.m. next Friday, Dec. 6. The location will be in the area of the police station, or Commerce Pointe, across Division Street. Please stay tuned for the confirmed location, and look for the large SWAT truck on Friday!

Thank you for helping us support these efforts. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!
