Community Surveys

Purpose

Battle Creek City Commissioners and the administration of the City of Battle Creek have used information about the perceptions and priorities of city residents regarding city services for goal-setting and long-term planning purposes for many years. In order to collect essential information about city services, the City of Battle Creek conducts a citizen survey every 3 years.

In 2022, Polco and the National Research Center joined forces to offer a rebranded National Community Survey. Most of the questions are the same as previous years, allowing us to make comparisons to our own previous surveys, and to other communities.

The reports for 2015 and 2018 are:

  • Technical Appendices -- Complete results from the surveys, methodology, and more.
  • Community Livability Report -- Survey summary and analysis by the National Research Center.
  • Dashboard -- Brief summary of benchmarking information.
  • Supplemental Online Results -- Results from the survey when placed online; non-scientific.
