BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Officers were already on the scene at 34 Division St N. when they witnessed a subject flee the building wearing a Santa costume and carrying a large bag of donated Christmas gifts.

The suspect is described as a green, furry, pot-bellied, pear-shaped, snub-nosed humanoid creature with a cat-like face and a cynical personality.

After a brief vehicle and foot pursuit, officers apprehended the subject.

Further investigation revealed that the subject, identified as, “The Grinch,” was attempting to steal Christmas from the citizens of Battle Creek and was subsequently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.

Thanks to the swift action of the Battle Creek Police, this bad banana won’t be stealing Battle Creek’s Christmas.
